Perinatal Mental Health in Whitby
Hello from me and my twins!Your baby is welcome.
My office is baby-friendly, so you can bring your baby to session. You're welcome to nurse, feed, change or hold your baby throughout our appointment.
Don’t let a lack of childcare mean a lack of self-care.
Pregnancy - Postpartum - Transition to Parenthood
Pregnancy and becoming a parent can be an incredible transition, but it can also bring anxiety, uncertainty, grief, identity changes and unexpected emotions.
Sometimes, generational patterns and how our parents raised us can emerge when we least expect it; when we become parents. Therapy is a meaningful way to navigate that thoughtfully, bringing along what works and leaving behind what doesn’t.
There is also a lot of pressure to be the “best parent ever.” Wanting to parent thoughtfully doesn't mean you have to get everything right. Therapy can give you space to understand yourself, work through what you're carrying, and decide what kind of parent you want to be.
You don't have to be experiencing a mental health diagnosis to seek support.
My StoryHaving a baby in Durham Region? I’ve been there. I am a mom of three, including twins, and became specifically trained in supporting new parents through pregnancy, birth and postpartum, through the hormonal, physical, experiential and relationship changes that can happen, because I am keenly aware of the need for support during that meaningful (and challenging) time.
